FAQ

Q: Can I ship more than one item in one shipment?
A: If you wish to send more items, you fill in the form for each item.

Q: How are my belongings insured?
A: We have a liability insurance for that. To make sure that any payment can be made by the insurer, you must hand over the evidence that the damage is caused while the shipment was under our responsibility. If the goods are of a large value, we can offer you additional all-risks insurance. Be advised that consequential damage and the loss of money and official documents is never compensated.

Q: What is consequential damage?
A: Consequential damage is damage caused due to a previous damage. If, for example, your luggage with garments is damaged, then we call this damage. If you therefore have to buy new clothing because you need them for a next trip, that is called consequential damage.

Q: Why do I have to pay VAT in some cases and in some cases not?
A: VAT is regulation by the government. Due to these rules for some destination we have to charge you with the VAT and for other destinations the VAT is void.
Remember that by law we are obliged to charge you for the VAT and directly pay it to the government.

Q: I have lost something at Schiphol. How do I know if you already found it?
A: We don’t look for lost belongings. We deliver, by your assignment, the belongings to you when they are found and you are not able to pick them up by yourself. We charge you for this service.
Passports, driving-licences and ID's, if found, will be handed over to Royal Netherlands Marechaussee. If you have lost something at Schiphol or in an airplane at Schiphol, not KLM, please contact Schiphol Lost&Found .

Q: I really need my belonging. The delivery time takes too long for me. What can I do to speed things up?
A: We only provide the transportation to you. If the proposed deliverytime doesn’t fit your needs, please contact us during office hours. Depending on the destination we look for the best way to serve you.

Q: Does LostFoundReturned.nl work together with air carriers and Schiphol airport?
A: Lost&Found&Returned is a private organisation with no Legal connection to aircarriers or airports. We offer you the possibility to receive your found possessions. On your request and charges, we provide the transportation from Schiphol Lost&Found to your place. Home or at work, anywhere in the world.

Q: My item is not in the productlist or it is over 20 kilogram. What should I do to get it back?
A: Please use the contactform and inform us about the type of product, the weight and the dimensions. We will make you an offer for that.

Q: I did not receive a statusupdate.
A: Every working day around 08:00 we sent a request to the airport which shipments they should prepare for pick-up. That is the moment the status of your assignment alters, so at that moment you receive a status update.

Q: Does the day of my order counts as a day in the transittime?.
A: No. When you order the transport with us, we will pick it up the next working day. Then the delivery starts through the netwerk that suits you best.

Q: What exactly does “weight by size” mean?
A: In transportation we work with this formula to make sure everyone pays a fair price. Basically it fades out the effect of high-volume shipments in relation to their actual weight. We calculate the weight by size for every consignment and compare that to the actual weight. We charge the client for the highest one.
